A Global Journey of Youth Futurists ~ Fuel the Dreams of Tomorrow's Leaders Today

Fuel the Dreams of Tomorrow's Leaders Today –

Future Shapers, Colleagues and Friends,

What an incredible journey World Futures Day—Young Voices (WFD-YV) has had since its inception in 2021! As I reflect on the conversations at the recent Dubai Future Forum, I'm filled with gratitude for the global community of futurists who have helped make this youth-led movement possible. Above all, it's the youth I have met, interacted with, and learned from while organizing this event who have made this journey truly special. From Jerome Glenn, whose visionary leadership with the Millennium Project paved the way for World Futures Day and Mara Di Berardo who has personally guided me through this process to the brilliant facilitators who've brought their expertise and passion to our 24-hour global conversations. And a special heartfelt thanks to my colleague Amna Habiba. Together, we celebrated a milestone achievement when World Futures Day— Young Voices received an honorable mention for the 2023 What IF Awards from the Association of Professional Futurists—a recognition that continues to inspire our work today, and lastly a huge thank you to our TTF founder Dr. Peter Bishop and the entire Coreteam who are the heartbeat behind ALL that we do.

About World Futures Day

On March 1st, 2025, we'll celebrate the 12th annual World Futures Day (WFD), sponsored by The Millennium Project and the 5th annual WFD-Young Voices edition led by Teach the Future. This 24-hour global conversation about our common futures brings together voices from around the world. WFD-YV is committed to ensuring youth perspectives are central to this global dialogue [2023 WFD 1 minute Video Recap].

  • $13,850 for live translations, video editing and documentation

  • $100 per facilitator sponsorship

Your investment will support technology platforms, translation services, professional documentation, event coordination, and facilitator stipends. Teach the Future is a registered non-profit 501c3, which means donations are typically tax deductible. Please consult your tax consultant.

2024 Achievements and Impact

In 2024, young voices globally tackled crucial topics: Sadiyah Saqib's quantum cryptography insights, Sam Wixon and Alice Dimond's Te Korekoreka framework from Aotearoa, and UNICEF Innocenti with Ijun Kim, Fathmath Zahanath Zuhury, and Adam Sharpe discussing how young voices are shaping international policy through their Global Outlook report. A special thanks to Professor Dr. Riel Miller who invited me to Stanford University's Levinthal-Ng House to discuss the growth of World Futures Day and the importance of futures literacy among youth, creating new opportunities for global dialogue on developing futures thinking capabilities.

Our Distinguished Facilitators

Our facilitators created empowering spaces: Dr. John Sweeney and Maggie Greyson brought their foresight consulting expertise; Kacper Nosarzewski led AI discussions; Carol Lim challenged education metrics; Lydia Caldana bridged Spanish-speaking communities; Fisayo Olewale championed youth in technology; and Sophia Londono showcased civic engagement in Medellín. Tia Aftab explored urban farming futures, while Claire Bridgette shared her NGFP-YV winning project on SDG 4.

Global Reach

We united over 600 participants from 70 countries, aged 11 to 87, in meaningful dialogue. As Belen from Peru noted, "Crucial discussions have happened, which made me feel really hopeful to change the future." From futures literacy programs in Barcelona to the Youth Sounding Board Ethiopia European Commission and EU Delegation to Ethiopia’s engagement, WFD-YV demonstrates the power of intergenerational dialogue

Looking Forward

As one participant reflected, "I feel like I have a deeper understanding about our aspirations as humans. WFD-YV creates a platform where young people actively shape their future narrative.”

Together for brighter futures,
